The one (1) character .biz domain name auctions are underway over at Sedo.com which started 9-23-2009. The auctions end on 9/30 but so far only two (2) domain names have met the reserve price.
I didn’t know there was a reserve price either, but from the looks of it, the reserve price must be right around $5K.
The two domains that have met reserve are:
X.biz $5,100
E.biz $6,601
The lowest current bid on any of the 1 character domains is G.biz @ $925. Two domains have bids of $950 and are M.biz and V.biz . The remaining domains are at $1,000 or greater.
E.biz has the most amount of bids of all, at 22. The domain with the lowest amount of bids is X.biz with 5, and that one has hit reserve.
The only 1 character domain names that will not be auctioned off are the number Zero 0.biz, i.biz, o.biz and q.biz . o.biz will be used by Overstock.com shortly.
It will be interesting to see what the 1 character .biz domain name sell at. According to DnJournal.com’s YTD sales charts for Global Contenders which the .biz TLD is in.. not a single .biz domain is in the top 100 sales for 2009. The lowest domains tied for spots 99 and 100 are at $8,400.

The value in these 1 character .biz domains will only exist as long as no other tld decides to allows 1 character. Once someone else (.com, .net, .org, .us) decides to offer 1 character the value of these .biz will drop like a rock.

I guess I was refering more to the standard english characters. While multilingual are great, it is not exactly comparing apples to apples=).
