(link to current list is here if you wish not to read) On the 23rd I did a test list of expired domain name auctions that were taking place exclusively at GoDaddy Auctions. The domain name auction list contained ONLY $10 auctions that were expired and had 1 bid. The reason these domain names have $10 bids instead of the minimum $12 bid, is because somebody backordered the domain name at GoDaddy.

I think people get confused and spend the $20 backorder because they think this will prevent the domain from going to the public expired domain auction at GoDaddy but it doesn’t. It only puts in "the first bid" at $10 and anybody can bid on the domain that has an account!

To me, this is an indicator that pops up a flag because somebody wants it for a reason! What that reason is, I’m not exactly sure but I like to try new things and this is a new list displaying ONLY the $10, 1 bid auctions. When I ran the list the other day, I only ended up with about 150 domains after applying a couple filters I use but for some reason A LOT more domain names currently match the $10 – 1 rule. Like over 4,000!

So I did a little filtering and will display a list that contains what I would consider "The Goodies". The list contains only .com domains, that are Two Word or Three Word domains (there were no one word domains) with no numbers are hyphens. This resulted in over 1,000 domain names.

Since the list is so long, I didn’t want to disrupt the layout of my blog with a super long article, so I set up a page to display this expired domain name auction list. You can access the page here: Domain Auction List . It is located on DotWeekly.

    Jamie

    Just Awesome list. I wish that I had a bigger bank account to buy these names.

    I am bit confused about 1 bid which you mentioned is someone backordering the name. So does this mean these domains will go more than $10 in the end? Sorry if this is stupid question. I am trying to find if it is possible to buy these domains without spending hundred or thousands dollars. There are few good names which I would love to buy.

    Thanks

    @Sukh,
    These are public auctions with a current bid of $10 and are live auctions. GoDaddy requires a $5 minimum bid increase, so the minimum somebody could win an auction is for $15 + domain renewal of about $8. Grand total of about $23 USD. Many of these will end for the current $10 bid. Many will be won by the second bidder and I’m sure some will be bid up higher. Hope this helps answer you question. One of these days I will dig the “closeout” domains, which are expired with Buy It Now’s ranging from $5-$11.
