As many of you know, I have been tracking the seized domain names by U.S. homeland security and the ICE division. Today I decided to take a peek at the SeizedServers.com DNS and sure enough! I checked not that long ago and the number on the server was around 82 but today that number spiked to 150 according to a reverse IP look up on DomainTools.com for 74.81.170.110 DNS!

18 domains were seized today, adding to the growing list below.

Some of the domain names that I covered in my last article about seized domains, are now using the seizedservers DNS. Atdhe.net for an example. This was not the case when these domains were seized.

You will also notice there is a .de domain, .nl domain and .be domain names in the list. I am pretty sure these registries are not located in the U.S.

Rojadirecta.org is still showing ICE information in whois "as the owner".

ThePirateCity.org is a second domain that I just found that the whois is showing ICE information.

Domains that were seized shortly before the Super Bowl, were "video" related and most sites simply provided a text link location (not a hyperlink) and didn’t actually have any downloads on the sites that were seized.

I have heard this operation today was stated to be "Broken Hearted" and the sites that were focused on were fake purse, wallet, rings, sunglasses, watches and other counterfeit items of major brands like Nike, Omega, Coach, Rolex etc. Double digits of domain names were likely seized today (2/14/2011) by ICE (update: 18 total today) and that doesn’t mean they are done for today!

Please keep in mind that this is in no way an "official list" and simply a discovery that I found and have been tracking. I have seen some domains "seized" and added to DNS list via DomainTools and the reverse IP lookup and later removed. This includes domain names from other countries or run by registries in other countries than the U.S., know as ccTLD’s. You can see proof of that here from screen shots of Onsma.sh and Sito.co.ua which have been removed and the domains now resolve without the seized notice.

On a lighter note…. I’m not sure if JustFarted.info (#64) was included in this category, but it did make me laugh when I saw it!

If you would like to see all my articles on the seized domain names by ICE, you can do that via the link.

    Is it wrong that I am beginning to almost hate our government? Where does the constitution give them the right to shut down video link sites? Especially those hosted in foreign countries and under foreign tld’s?

    @Troy,
    A lot of people hate the U.S. Government… so no its not wrong that you are beginning to. But now that they know you may hate them, they might seize your domain. :)

    Sorry, but your methodology is flawed.

    Checking any of the cctlds on that list none of them are pointing at the IP you mention.

    Trds.de has address 80.67.28.161
    Q23.nl doesn’t have any A records
    Schoor.be is pointing at 64.202.189.170

    I have a feeling that other governments are cooperating with the U.S.

    It’s just not cool or legal to run illegal video link farms and downloads, malware sites, scam sites, and phishing operations.

    I’m all for the seizure of such sites.

    Your freedom of speech ends when you are breaking international laws and do harm to web users who land on your sites.

    Freedom of speech is never absolute. You can’t break copyright and other laws in the name of free speech.

    Troy, hate the U.S. all you want, but I still want to see illegal and harmful sites shut down.

    @Michele,
    Well, I didn’t just happen to “come up” with those 3 domains out of the clear blue sky. I was sure to state “according to a reverse IP look up on DomainTools.com for 74.81.170.110 DNS” in the article as they are on the list at DomainTools. I just double checked again. I have seen some sites in the past resolve differently with and without www. and some that did resolve and later did not. I was surprised to see the ccTLD’s on the list, as other’s have been before and removed. Here is the proof: http://www.dotweekly.com/ukraine-saint-helena-domains-added-to-ice-seized-domain-list

    How do sites like this, with these names, get traffic?

    @Owen,
    Likely WOM, since most offer things others do not. Social media I’m sure plays a roll, with forums being a big source.

    I think every domain owner should have the right to due process.

    Although counterfeiting, pirating and such are out of control, so is this seizure. It’s sick.

    I see articles on the seizure of Dattebayo by ICE on every site except ICE’s website. No statements, no articles whatsoever. How do we know dattebayo.com just didn’t pay their bills and went out of business?
