Stealth or Not when buying a domain?

I always feel creepy if I try and hide who I am all the time, but I was just reminded why so many people do it!

Alien…. Who is this guy?

If you are thinking of buying a domain name using whois or contacting threw a domain that is existing, you are going to want to cover all your bases so "you" are not "you". Here are some tips to hide who you are.

Email~ With so many free services like gMail or Hotmail & Yahoo this can be done and is very simple. Even your name you put into the contact info can be different. You can also use a domain name with privacy as long as you put it on right away and the domain is not cached via whois.

Registrar Account~ You can use part of your name and a P.O. Box is the best. Just use your first name and middle name. Put in your gMail, Yahoo or Hotmail email. The registrar account is important if you are doing a transfer of any kind, because the owner Will see your contact info.

Money Account~ This one is a little harder. You have to provide full info via paypal, so that is not always the way to go, but you do not have to put in a name for your shipping address and you can use that email again you created. I suggest doing this. If you can, use your P.O. Box again and either put a web address for the name or put your dogs name. An Escrow service can also be used and providing "part" info again will suit you best. Don’t forget that new email address you created as well. These three little steps can make the difference between you closing the deal or the seller walking away, because the find out your a domainer!
