Pending Delete 4L .com Domains test # 4

Archived in the category: Domain News

Today is the last test date and an interesting one at that. After doing this for the past 4 days I have learned several things and this is the most accurate of all the lists because of my findings. This was also the largest list of all 4 days, but again, there is a for sure trend started! To put it simply, more and more people are backordering a large amount of random 4L .com’s and I see all 4L’s soon to be backordered just like 3 charactor .com’s Here are the findings for the Pending Delete 4 Letter .com for 1-17-2008!

A total of 74 domains dropped. Again, not more then one domain per registrar was captured. This alone is pretty amazing, meaning 74 different registrars captured a 4 letter .com out of the drops. This does not mean most were not captured by "a" company, but it shows the fire power needed to capture dropping domains. Here is who got what.

eNom continued to be a player using 9 registrars to capture domains. These all had to be backorders, because non of the domains are in Live Auction at NameJet.com .

Godaddy.com stayed in the game with 1 which is also considered a backorder.

Pool.com meant business today and grabbed it’s largest number to date! Pool ended up with 15 of the 76 that dropped. I searched there auction house and did not see a single one they grabbed at auction, which can only mean that all 15 were for backorders! They have also been "highlighting" 4L.com’s with there daily emails on drops as well as on there homepage and seems to be paying off for them. If you have not been keeping track yet, that is 25 Backorders so far out of 25 domains!

Always being the leader, SnapNames.com got it’s normal share of Pending Delete 4 letter .com’s! They grabbed an amazing 35 of the 74 (47.29%)! Of that 35, 17 were backorders and the other 18 went to there auction house! Backorder count now at 42 of 60 which is 70%!

The remaining 14 went to the unknown! Again, the unknown are smaller registrars that look like "personal" or small business registrars so I think it’s safe to say, these are also considered backorders. The reason I can say this, is because the domains from test day #1, never rechanged hands so were not being tasted.

All 52 domains from test day #1 were not recreated (dropped). It is pretty safe to say, that 56 of the 74, 4 letter .com pending delete domains were Backordered on 1-17-2008. That is 75.675% of what was pending delete. It is also worth to note, that only 1 (one) of these 74 domains contained ALL premium letters (MPLB).

All premium letters to me are A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,L,M,N,O,P,R,S,T the rest all contained at least 1 non premium letter, with many having 2 or more. I think by the end of this month, all 4 letter .com’s will be backordered, no matter what the letter combo is, just like 3 charactor .com’s are now. I hope this study has helped you in one way or another!

Thanks Jamie, this your analys is very very precious and useful.

The demand is simply skyrocking and so the middle guys (dropcatchers) are taking actions and auctions ;-)

Best regards,

Thanks for the nice research!
I guess it means LLLL.com prices can achieve 100$ minimum by the end of year easily.
Ok, gotta go put some backorders ;)

Ssamgriga,

At the rate of growth, I would be surprised if that doenst happen substancially sooner. (like March/April)

Actually I have a feeling that LLLL’s will surpass 3 character .com’s by end of year. The tell-tale signs are there. Total crap is selling for $35 and anything with 3 premiums letters has quickly hit $xxx. It’s a real barn burner this one. I totally regret not grabbing a 100 of these when I had the chance. Oh well…who knew.

What a great analysis of the drop process. It’s good to see some REAL facts around this. Just goes to show the power of multiple credentials.
