I had been watching the domain name Shoppers.com as it had expired. The odd thing is, the domain name was with NetworkSolutions.com . When a Network Solutions domain name of this quality expires, it normally gets run threw it’s auction service, NameJet.com .
Shoppers.com for some reason did not. It’s not because it was not back-ordered (because I did). The whois looked just like all the other Pre-Release domain names that are at NameJet.com .
From my searching, the whois could reveal why this domain went to Pending Delete and went threw the drop cycle and not directly to NameJet. Invalid Whois Info, in the form of No Valid Email Address and no phone number!

5 Days ago, the domain went pending delete and today it dropped and was captured by Pool.com . The current bid is $26,000.00 with 2 days, 15 hours left. Shoppers.com did have a TM on the domain, but currently is DEAD and has been since 2000. I do not even know if that company exists anymore or not. Wayback is blocked, so I can not see what was on the domain. Doing a search on Google for Shoppers, Inc. the first result is ShoppersComments.com which forwards to ShoppersJobs.com which looks to be an Employment site for Shoppers, Inc. .
Also to note: In Network Solutions TOS, the Registrant can state they do not want the domain to go to auction, but again, I do not think this was the case, as the expired date was listed as late in 2008 as NetSol does with all domains the have expired. When this does happen, that a customer asks for the domain not to go to auction, the exipred date always stays the same, as the original expired date. Again, in this case, it did not.
