Here are my weekly off the wall domain name stats. As always, the stats are from 24 hours ago, meaning yesterday 3-12-2008.
I always seem to start off by talking about Godaddy.com but they have such impressive numbers, it’s hard for me not to talk about them first! Maybe it’s because they are about to cross the 24 Million domains in control mark by today actually? Or maybe because it’s a fact they control over 3 x’s more domains then the 2nd leading registrar? Maybe it’s because they have had a positive gain of 550,000 domain name MORE then the any registrar in 30 days! In the past 30 days, Godaddy.com has gained (either a new registration, or transfered to) 645,121 domain names!!! That just blows me away. They are beating the competition SO badly, it’s funny! Think of how big of a company Network Solutions is. How many domains did they gain over the past 30 days? 2,042. Yes that’s a difference of 643,079 domains that Godaddy beat them by! My hat goes off to Godaddy and there team. They are doing things right and the numbers are Really showing it.
There are currently 974 ICANN accredited registrars. Last on the list at 974 is RegisterFly.com inc.
NameDrive.com had a positive gain of 13,298 domain names added to there parking service. A very large percentage of these domain names are being tasted, since they lose about 5K+ daily.
HitFarm.com had another big positive gain of 10,712 domain names added to there service.
ParkingPanel.com gained 2,755 domain names.
4,293 domain names expired that are registered with NetworkSolutions.com
3,553 domain names expired that are registered with Register.com
4,123 domain names expired that are registered with Tucows.com
Enom started tasting 25K + more domain names.
8,544 domains that were parked with Parked.com were moved to HitFarm.com
2,620 domain names that are registered with Register.com and parked with Sedo.com expired.
1,989 domain names there were parked at Sedo.com were moved and are now parked with HitFarm.com
895 domain names moved from NameDrive.com to Sedo.com parking.
711 domain names that Pool.com was tasting, dropped and were picked up by eNom!
658 domain names that were in SnapNames.com auction platform, were either purchased or captured on a drop and were then parked with Sedo.com parking.
