This is just an idea, but also a Major business opportunity.

What if a company was started and offered "Domain Name Asset Control". The first challenge would be to grab the attention of companies. Secondly, would get to give them a little idea, that domain names are valuable with some facts. Any company, of any size can use the service with two options.

Consulting or Full Management.

Consulting would provide educating the company on it’s domain name assets. Many do not even know domain names Have Value. The consulting service would point the company in the proper direction based on it’s current or future needs.

Full Management would provide, buying and selling of the companies domain names. Management of monetization, renewals, consolidation and brokering services on sales and purchases.

Perhaps not germain to this post, but I am trying to decide what company to use to monetize the domains we own and I am seeing mergers and alliances happening every day, it seems. This, combined with the issue of “transparency” surrounding the payouts is making it difficult to choose a parking space for the many domain names we have. Our current registrar is publishing active pages and I am sure they are getting tons of hits and certainly making money. We own the name and they are being paid for the traffic.

Is this a comon problem for domainers or what?

In the case of the default parking pages, the registrars do take advantage of the domain owner IMO, but it could also be considered mismanagement of the domain owner. I would suggest checking out the parking providers that I have listed on my home page on the right site under Parking.
