I have always found this information pretty interesting and thought I would share it since it’s not easy to find, but is provided publicly. This information is from one of the biggest domain name forums and I think this is a good guide for the domain industry as a whole. It is important to note, this site is located in the USA.
User Demographics: 57.8% are from the USA with the UK coming in second at 14.8%. Following in third and did suprise me was the Neitherlands at 10.1%.
Age Demographics: This can be a touchy topic for people doing business with people under the age of 18. Some people do not even know, but there are a good deal of users in the 14-17 year old range, but the age group is considered 18 and under. That group comes in with a pretty large percentage at 10.9%.
With the most, is the 18-24 years old range with 32.2%. Followed close behind is the age bracket of 25-30 which covers 26.5%. With 20.2% the 31-40 year old’s rank 3rd (This includes me, 31). The total average age is 27.8 years old.
Gender Breakdown: 85% Male, 15% Female.

The Netherlands mention did not surprise me. They have always been at the center core of the internet’s development. In 1994-97 I did make note of these countries acquiring many domain names; USA, CANADA, FRACE, UK GERMANY and SOUTH KOREA.

Thank you for posting Michael. Welcome to DotWeekly. You are a GEO master and I can see why you would of noticed this back in the early 90’s. 98% of us didn’t even think of GEO domains until more recently.
