This and that and this… Just ramblings

~Jamie Parks over at DomainerDevolper.com offered up a link to one of the funniest video’s I have seen in a long time. I mean nearly make you pee your pants funny! It’s a good one for the "computer tech guys". The domain is very fitting and I’m sure getting hits like crazy and this is just the tip of it! www.TheWebsiteIsDown.com is the video. If somebody was smart, they would contact the owner and put up an advertising banner real quick! Have it play before and after the video. This video will get Millions of hits I’m sure!

~I missed out on a GEM today (Defining.com) that was at auction on NameJet. I put in an earlier bid today, but was planning on bidding a good deal more before it ended. I totally forgot about the auction and Missed Out on the final bidding! Grrrr, Seems to happen to me often. I mean really, how hard is it for NameJet to send you an email about 1 hour before any domain you were bidding on or are watching as a reminder it’s ending. The only email you get is if you were outbid or summary reports. I have noticed this with TDNAM domains and SnapNames.com domains as well.

I noticed a bit more competition this morning during my drop catching. iTimeMarketing.com is a taster and grabbed a couple I was going for. They grabbed a couple Thousand really. I had one domain in my cart and went through checkout, but must of been beaten on the "buy" part. I was still able to get a couple nice ones at reg fee. HireAid(.)com which I like for a job placement company and just a funny one… YouDork(.)com to name a couple . Catchy I must say and to hard for me to pass up! :)

RickLatona.com the web site is/was down today and I have not heard anything from him lately. (just checked it again and it’s back up) He is on another world travel adventure, Galapagos islands and would explain why no news letters are going out! I was going to run the advertising idea (above) to him. Oh well.

I reapplied at ActiveAudience.com and was accepted right away this time, so I am going to give them a try for parking. I had super fast replies and was happy about that. I was really hoping there landing pages would go directly (or have the option) to an Afternic.com listing page via for sale link, but I wasn’t able to find it. I tried direct linking the wording you can select and that didn’t work either. It was because of the code in the link (?) that it wouldn’t allow it. So it worked better applying for the service Directly to a person, instead of through the web site. The pages look good, but I just need to work on the linking issue as I want the for sale link to go directly to my afternic listing page. www.Dabbler.com is one of the page if you wish to look.

I listed my first project on GetAFreelancer.com today with the assistance of Justin. Just a coding tool that I would like, but was a little upset to see it costed $5 to make the post. Justin walked me throught what I should make sure to add in the post. Like Shared Hosting, PHP & Programmer will load script to servers when done etc. Oh well, I wanted to give it a shot, since finding a good programmer/designer on domain forums is hard to do. I’d rather pay a little extra and get something quicker and better since the other projects failed. So far no bids, but I hope that will change with time.

I checked stats today on DotWeekly.com and will post more about that at the end of the month. Interesting numbers I must say!

Happy Domaining!
