A pretty interesting story came accross my RSS reader today from NJBiz.com . Being a domain investor, I thought it was laid out Very Clear in the story of two different businesses. One that "Got It" and the other that doesn’t when it comes to domain names and their businesses.

Femworks LLC wanted to own/purchase Femworks.com but noticed it was registered already. They did contact the current owner of Femworks.com but dropped the ball shortly there after when the current owner replied with a $2,500 price tag for the domain.

So Femworks decided on the available to register domain name FemworksLLC.com instead. IMO, this is where they dropped the ball and do not get it…. Femworks.com shows to me, "This company means business". "This company is For Real". Let alone the fact that every time when an employee of Femworks talks about Femworks website, they have to add on LLC to the end of it! If I did business with the company, I would go to Femworks.com naturally, NOT FemworksLLC.

This Minimal expense of $2,500 for "The Perfect Domain" can and most likely WILL cost them much more money in lost revenue later down the road and for the domain name if they finally figure out how they dropped the ball.

Onto the company that DOES Get it on page 2 of the story! The Karcher Group!

They get it and got "The Perfect Domain" for their company! TKG.com . Short and sweet and shows from the get go They Mean Business! The Karcher Group paid $15,000 recently for their domain name but it was not easy getting TKG.com . As TKG talked about on their blog using Sedo.com and the nightmare it was! Here is the follow up story of the final buying from the first blog post!

Congrats to The Karcher Group for "Getting It" when it comes to Domain Names and their online presence!

I wasn’t planning on going this route, but would also like to add to this story as reading the TKG blog brings up more interesting points… More to come in my next post ;)
