In the domain industry it seems things change by the hour and heck even by the minute. One style of domain is hot, then the following week it’s not. I have been seeing this with the 4L .com market. Jumping up, then heading down. Now this week, their have been several nice 4 figure reported sales.
In the 4L market, the domains that Will allways hold value and the most of it, are Quad Premium. Triple Repeat of premium letters, double combos of quad premiums (ABAB) and the CVCV’s and VCVC’s of quad premiums. No matter what the market is doing, these domains will be at the top of that market and setting the standard.
At times you will see an odd ball sell for a fair amount, but keep in mine their are 450K+ 4 Letter .com’s and the ones grabbing the most are the ones I stated above. The more meaning the 4L has, the better. If it’s easily brandable, prounceable etc.. all the better. I call these domains Safe Buys and even thought the 4L market goes up and down, the majority of the above stated will be on the Up.
Geo’s have been hot for the past month or so, but are now in their cool off period. The true gems will always hold their value and continue to rise as people finally see the true value in a premium Geo. Geo’s are an advertisers dream and in the right hands, can make Great Business for both the domain owner and the business advertising. I was trying to purchase and still will of a Great Geo to me. The company that is using it, is Misusing it Big Time and they don’t get it. I do think if you focus on buying some Geo’s…. make them close to home for you! You know your area and might have a couple "foot in the door" moments while looking for advertisers.
Numeric domains were clearly HOT this week. They include a 2 number domain, (5) 3 number domains and even 3, 4 number domains that all sold for Big Bucks. All the 2 & 3 number .com domains sold in the strong 6 figure range with the 4 number domains all grabbing Mid 5 figure ranges according to DnJournal.com. These sales were all unique as they went to one buyer with a plan, but I bet we will see some more NN, NNN, NNNN sales in the coming weeks….
Generic domains are and will always be one of the hotest and most profitable section. This market really never changes, because one generic is not the same as the next. They will change value based on extension, but that’s about it. Coffee.org sold for $100K, so who knows what the .com would sell for, but I would say 7 figures very easily.
Onto a little different change… ME… LOL. I went to bed last night fine and dandy. I wake up this morning and I can hardly open my right eye. I was like WTF. My lower eye lid is swollen pretty bad. It’s just the one eye lid on the bottom, the top is perfectly fine. My left eye is perfectly fine. The eye is some what closed due to the swelling and it makes it hard to see. Plus I hate wearing my glasses, which is another thing that bugs me. There is no "pain" in my eye, it’s just the lower lid as it’s tight from the swelling, so blinking is a bit of a pain in the butt.
Your eye’s are nothing to mess with, so I made sure to make a Dr. Appt for the earlist time I could go. That is at 1 pm today CT. so I hope to find out more about it then. P.S. I hate doctors.. LOL I will let you know, when I know.
It’s pretty scary… and things you do not think about. What would happen if you no longer could see? What would happen if both or even one of your hands became unusable? Domaining would be pretty hard to do. I once thought about putting insurance on my hands, because without them working perfectly…. I would be screwed. I couldn’t type and that would be a big problem. Oh how things change so fast!
