Some of you might have heard about this site from people using it as a "source" or somebody talking about it in general. The one thing I do know, it most people do not know about it or just do not know the power it holds and never paid a visit.
So what is this site? It’s called RegistrarStats.com . This is a 100% FREE service that is provided by eNom. I still have not figured out why eNom offers it, but I sure LOVE the tool.
The tool is based on DNS (Domain Name Servers) and the daily changes domain names make are nearly always done with DNS. So if I happen to move a domain name from Fabulous.com (ns1.fabulous.com) to Sedo (ns1.sedoparking.com), I need to change the DNS. Well, RegistrarStats.com tracks this and provides the info on it’s site! The way the info is provided is the part that will take you a little bit to "learn".
The process of learning which DNS you want to know will be important based on what you want to see. You can pick out Expired domain names, Tasted Domains, Parked domains etc.
The main links you will be visiting on the site are as follows:
Most Active ~ The most active section is just what it says. These are services that were most active for that day.
Top Movements ~ I use this one the most. It is kind of like most active, but a little different
Movement By Name ~ This allows you to type in the DNS and select the date you wish to see.
Market Share ~ This shows the Amount of domains each registrar has under it’s control. Just fun to look at…
When you visit these sections, the most important thing to do is learn What each DNS is for. Once you know that, then you when you click "the number" all the domain names will be displayed. The most active page has several groups of numbers like "in", "new", "out" etc. It will take a little bit for you to understand these.

The screen shot above is what the Top Movements section looks like. Keep in mind, the stats are delayed 24 hours so what you see today are stats from yesterday. You can adjust the date if you wish as well. Under Domain Count, you can click any of those numbers and see the list of domain names. Once you click, a different screen will show and you can also export that list to Excel (csv) or a TXT doc (wordpad) which is a great feature (top right of screen). Be sure to click a number in the Domain Count, then once on that page, click the Excel or Text feature..
Again, the most important part is understand what each dns is For. In the above example, Rank 1 with 2,345. From is SecureServer.net . That is a Godaddy server and the To is DomainControl, which is also a Godaddy server. These could be newly registered domains, domains that were hosted and taken off or they could of expired.
Moving down to #3, 1,569 From Worldnic.com To PendingRenewalDeletion.com . These are both Network Solutions name servers. The ns1.worldnic.com is their standard parking server, the ns1.pendingrenewaldeletion.com is the server they use when a domain expires. So basically, 1,569 domain names expired that were on the worldnic.com server. I’m sure another 500-1,500 expired that were on various servers as well. To see ALL of the domains that expired that day, you can look at the Most Active section and search for the pendingrenewaldeletion.com dns.

Now at the Most Active section you can see the TOTAL amount of expired domains for that day for Network Solutions pendingrenewaldeletion.com dns. I would take that 4 and the 3,049 and view those. Those are the domains that have Just Expired at Network Solutions. The domains next to them with - numbers are domain that were Removed from that name server. Those domains could of been won at auction, renewed or went into pending delete status. The final number (73,168) shows you the total amount of domain names that are on that server.
This is a Super Sweet tool for those who Think Outside The Box! Get to know what servers are attached to what companies/sites and this will be a Great Tool for you to use. I do know nearly all the servers, but what fun would that be to display them all. I have to have you do a little work
Let me know what you think of the tool and if you have any question.
