Here is a quick tip to help with some little details you may miss while using domain parking ;)

I use Fabulous.com for my domain name parking and know this is the case for domains parked with Fabulous. Other parking companies may or may not use this method.

Your keywords you input are more important then you think and are not just for the "ads" placed on the parking page.

Where you input your list of keywords to be used for the domain name, these keywords also become part of the Title in search engines, used for Meta Keywords and on the parking page itself.

So here is an example in my Fabulous account for my domain name Repellent.org

Repellent Keywords Fabulous

That is my Target keyword and then related keywords list of some more keywords related to the domain.

How does this reflect the Title and Meta description in the search engine? Let’s have a look.

Google Repellent Title

Now you will see the Title always starts with the Domain Name, then follows by your related keywords in order until the default character limit is met.

From what I can tell, you do not have control over the Meta Description via Fabulous. I use the Fabulous+Lander. It would be nice to have control over the meta description, but I can understand why the parking company may not allow you to. (people placing false claims in it to get people to click) The meta description that is currently in place, must of been from the old owner of the domain.

So how can you tell the Meta Keywords are the same as the keywords you input for your parking page? Head over to Whois.sc and enter in your domain name.

Repellent Website Title and Meta Keywords

Since my screen shot above (1st one) does not show the "rest" of my keywords in the drop down box other then the first 3, now you can see them all and is further proof of my claim.

My tip is getting long here… so much for my "quick tip". lol

So to top it off. How did I come up with my keywords for this specific domain? Well, you could use Google’s Adwords Tool and enter in your Target keyword. Then take the Highest or the target searches you are looking for to best match your domain.

Now what I did for this specific domain since it’s product related and a more popular term. On the bottom of Google, you will notice Related Searches.

Repellent Keywords

Not every term has these, but most of the popular ones do. Keep in mind these change as well. (as you can tell, mine are off a little) These terms change with the season, so best match what you think people will click on.

If you can input related images to your parking page.. all the better as well as some people are visual and will like to see an image related to what they are searching! This can make them click as well.

I hope this was of some help to you and may have pointed out something you may have missed. ;)
