Here is a tool that you likely have not heard about or used yet. The site is called ZFBot.com . The ZF is an acronym for Zone Files, which is where the main records are stored for domain names.
The information included in the zone files are the domain name, tld and dns.
ZFBot.com, using the data from the zone files, allows its users to search as either a buyer or seller. It doesn’t come out and ask you this, but the tool can function that way
You perform a search based on keyword(s) and can select to narrow your search down by TLD, IDN, NO Numbers, No Hyphens and length of domain name.
The search results displayed will show you ALL domain names that either start with or end with the keyword(s) you searched for. You can select "contains" but that will simply show you both, ends with and starts with domains together. The one downside to the system is it will not find your keyword(s) IN a domain. This is due to the massive sizes of the files.
Using the data provided can greatly help a domain name seller find a potential buyer for a domain name that you own based on the keywords in the domain.
Example: I did a search for sleepyridge which is a domain name that I own (SleepyRidge.com). Within seconds, 5 potential hits for buyers that own similar domain names that contained the sleepyridge term in it.
- SleepyRidgeFarm.com
- SleepyRidgeFarms.com
- SleepyRidgeGolf.com
- SleepyRidgeGolfCourse.com
- SleepyRidgeWeedings.com
A smart buyer of any of the domains above would simply see owning the SleepyRidge.com as the King domain due to it not having any of the "add on words", as add on words simply lead to missed traffic and customers.
You can do this process with Google as well, but keep in mind that Google only displays INDEXED pages. Using Google with the key search site:keyword.com will show you categories, sub-domains and full domains that match your keyword. Using ZFBot.com as well, will help you not miss the ones that are not indexed!
If you simply double click the domain name after your search on ZFBot that might be a potential buyer, you can view whois info and obtain email info and fire off an email.
I am sure if you use your creative mind, you can come up with plenty other ideas to use the tool for as well.
Now if you are a buyer, ZFBot.com displays PendingDelete data as well by selecting Dropping.
Using the tool the same way as above, but select Dropping. You can see PendingDelete domain names dropping in the next 5 days based on keywords and other filters you use.
You can also use ZFBot.com as a Brand Tracking tool. If you own a registered trademark or simply are protecting a brand in general, using ZFBot and searching by keyword will display all registered domain names (for the TLD’s they track) with a specific keyword. Fast, Easy and Free!
Checkout ZFBot.com and play around and let me know what you think. If you hear voices coming out of your speakers, simply click the Pause button by the webmasters radio.

Thanks, Jamie.

That’s pretty cool. Keeps freezing up on me, though. Might have to do with all of the extra gadgets like the ticker and Webmaster Radio.

I had noticed a lag before as well and since posting, I’m sure the traffic to the site went up a little as well
. Ken might be making some changes in the backend, which can slow some things down a little bit.

Definitely not working at the moment. But looks exceptionally useful! Reminds me a little of namedroppers but better.
