Checkout the newly released ZipZing domain name filtering software, launched by DotWeekly founder Jamie Zoch. ZipZing is a dictionary based domain name filter that easily allows you to see 1 word, 2 word, 3 word, popular domains and more!

ZipZing Domain Filtering Software

Use ZipZing with the domain punch software mentioned below for even further filtering and fast results.

Why I never found this free tool before, I don’t know but the good news is I did today and I’m going to share it with you! Every domain name investor needs a domain name sorting tool, because there are times we all run into a huge list of domain names but only wish to see specific domains in the list. Maybe you only wish to see the .com domain names in the list but there are .net, .org, .info and so on.

Manually going through huge lists of domain names can take up a lot of your valuable time!

Maybe you wish to only see domain names that end in a certain keyword like Blog.

Maybe you have a huge list of keyword terms and you wish to add a TLD to it like .info or .net or whatever to check and see if the domains are available.

Maybe you are like me and you want to take a big list of domain names and only want to see, .com domains with no numbers or hyphens.

DomainPunch.com offers you a free solution to many problems of sorting huge domain name lists with a free (100% free, no signing up, no ads etc) software that simply works! Here is the direct download link as well.

As with any "new" whatever, it’s best to use it a little bit. You know, kick the tires a little bit! This software is no different but you should have it figured out in 15 minutes or less!

Here are some basics with some screen shots of the software.

The Main Domain Name Filter Software Tool

Free domain name filter software

Your first thing you will need to do is add/import your list of domain names you wish to filter. Add Names or Import Names is the buttons you will use. Once you have your list in, you will want to visit the Settings Tab to set your filters.

Settings page of the domain name filter

Domain Name Filter Settings

This is likely where you will have to "kick the tires" a little bit and get use to the functions. In the above example, I will be filtering the domain name list and the ONLY domain names that I will end up with are:

  • .com
  • no numbers
  • no hyphens
  • 2-25 length
  • no domains with repeating letters at the start

I wouldn’t suggest using the ignore names with repeating characters feature!

At first, I put into the box on the far right the domain TLD I wished to have filtered OUT.. but that box is where you put in what you WANT to get in your finished list.

Once you have your filters set the way you want them, click OK. You will return to the first screen shot above. Then click Go>> on the left and the tool will start filtering. Once it’s done (it’s really fast considering the amount of domains I put in (60K+) and it only took maybe 20 seconds) you will want to export the list to use as you wish. Simply click Export Out. You can copy or save all.

The Wipe button clears the list for the fitting side of the tool you clicked. It will ask you if you are sure? and if you are, click Yes.

This really is a KISS (keep it simple stupid) type tool, but the great thing is, it works as long as you use it properly! Again, some of the filter options may be a little confusing the first time you use it, but with what I explained above… you should be able to figure it out in no time.

Tip: If you are searching for an exact number by length, the tool counts the .tld . So if you only want to see 4L domains, you would put 8 to 8 as the length if you want to see 4 letter .com’s for an example. 9 to 9 for 5L etc.

Adding a TLD to a word list

Do not check the the ignore names with repeating characters feature for this! Secondly, be sure the At The End as pictured above isn’t checked either if you have a TLD in there.

This feature can be used when new TLD’s are launched for checking available domains that you have a raw list of. You can also do this simply for keywords that you extract from a list. Many registrars work by just imputing a list, but they default to .com domains to check available, but not all do. So if you need this option, here is how to do it.

You will need to import or add your keywords you wish to add a TLD to.

You will then need to click the Processor tab on the upper far right of the software.

Domain Name Filter Processing

Use the above as an example to add the .com TLD to the end of your input word list. After doing the settings, click Close.

You will then be back to the main screen of the domain name filter tool. Click Go>> and you will have your results.

Add tld to a keyword list

You can use the above tool to remove TLD’s as well.

Further Filtering

~ Use a dictionary based domain name filter like ZipZing.com to save you time and only see domains containing keywords you want to see! Upload any dictionary (keyword list) you like and any domain list you would like to filter!

~ Get metrics for your sorted domain name lists. I use the popular DRT Software (Domain Research Tool). Again, take your filtered list and input it into DRT to get metrics for your sorted domain list if you would like.

I hope you enjoy this free domain name filter tool that I found and that this article helps explain some of its uses. A big thank you to DomainPunch.com and Softnik.com for making it and providing it for free! Let me know what you think!

It looks like a nice tool. But I think DRT might be better.

Hey man thanks for the tool. I have actually been doing this manually for a while going to be good to be able to have some software to be able to mess with and hopefully modify or have some one write me a program related to what i want for more specific results on domains.

    @DomaiNader,
Be sure to not check the box Ignore repeat characters in the Filter Setup.. it removes domain name like Free and anything with double repeats.. cool etc. One flaw I have noticed with the software.

Just tried out this tool and the filter isn’t all that great when you have large groups of keywords you want to pull from a list. For example if you wanted to pull all words that start with “big” and all words that start with “small” and all words that contain “purple”. when you enter those parameters it will only pull names like bigpurple and smallpurple but it won’t pull the name dogpurple since it doesnt start with big or small. so if you have a long list and keywords you want to run against it you have to run it 3 times. one time for each type of filter (starts with , contains, ends with) . As now this filter uses AND and it should use the OR between those parameters. If there was a check box to select AND or OR or toggle them on/off that would make this product SUPER useful.
If softnik is reading I can demo this problem for them .
