AOL, LLC has purchased the domain name and website MMAFighting.com . The site was launched in 2001 and is all about Mixed Martial Arts. The purchase price was not disclosed.
According to Compete.com, MMAFighting.com has about 51,000 Monthly Unique Visitors. (which I think is pretty low really) but again, no price was given.
The MMAFighting.com domain has 1 DMOZ listing and has 71 Wikipedia pages.
MMAFighting.com ranks #2 in natural search results for the search term mma and # 1 and # 2 for mma fighting.
According to whois history records, the domain name changed ownership to AOL, LLC on July 12, 2009 (Sunday). The past owner was "Eddie Hui" from Hong Kong, China until 5-19-2009 but whois also shows a "name change" to a "Raymond Hui" of Illinois on 5-25-2009.
AOL plans to relaunch (update) the site in a couple months.
Keep in mind this was not "just" a domain sale, but a domain and website sale.

Just accidentally typed in MMSFighting.com after reading the article and it redirected to MMAFighting.com. Very smart pickup since the “a” and “s” are right next to each other on the keyboard. That could also be part of your weekly smart domaining feature

Nice catch! Yes, that is a smart move as well! That typo was just registered last month and was purchased by AOL, LLC them self and not the past owners of MMAFighting.com . Interesting.
