First and foremost, thanks for the blog post Jamie. Sorry about the trouble with the Bido site but please allow me to address MD & JS, and state that infact we were not hacked (Bido and DNZoom have bank-level security), and to anonymous poster "conspiracy", we did not pull the plug because bids were low. Infact bids would have been much higher if our clients were able to log onto our website! As seen by the original blog post of Jamie's, above: "Posted by: Jamie Zoch - I was about to bid and my screen froze up."

The chat feature was rolled out prior to the auction start but our auctions currently get the most action towards the end of the auction, rather than at the start when the gates open each day at 1:00PM EST. So the load incrementally increased towards the end of the auction, when it reached the point that it was too overbearing for the server to handle and clients who wanted to bid were unable to.

We have ceased all auctions till the hardware and software issues are redesigned, rewritten, and stress tested much further.

hmmm.. anybody thinking what I am? That the bids were way too low, and bido pulled the plug to give the domain one more day to pull more bidders in?

**Jamie Says**
One could think this, but I do not think it's the case here. They just simply crashed the server with the buzz of the domain at auction. I personally didn't see the new chat feature, but they said they were testing that as well, which I can see adding some bandwidth.

Do the servers that can't handle a single name auction or chat test, hold users' credit card numbers?
