Here is a domain name that keeps getting the boot around domainer accounts.

Boot.net

The domain name was auctioned off at the Moniker East T.R.A.F.F.I.C. event on 5-23-2008 and sold for $5,000

The domain was then auctioned again in the recent December 10, 2009 GreatDomains.com auction on Sedo and sold for $3,200.

The domain is once again on the auction block currently at Sedo with a high bid of $1,250 with about 5 days left in the auction ending 1-5-2010 at Sedo.com

I did check Whois History and it appears the domain has changed hands the past two times it has sold, so we will see what happens with this auction. The 2008 buyer would appear to have lost $1,800 +  $320 in auction fees (10%) for a total of about $2,120.

It is a nice domain, as it is a 4 letter word but I’m not 100% sure what it will or could be used for. The plural term clearly could be used for selling Boots but the singular may best be used as an acronym or maybe something to do with computers. Many have said the economy is turning around little by little, so it will be interesting to see what this one ends for again and if it goes into another investors account or an end user.

In a way, it can be compared to selling at 3 different auction services:

  1. Moniker TRAFFIC (I think it was a silent auction domain and not in the live auction, so technically auctioned on SnapNames)
  2. GreatDomains.com and sold with the Sedo.com auction platform
  3. Sedo.com sole system

Clearly 2 & 3 are the same "auction" service, but did GreatDomains have any help in the last auction or not? I think this domain may end for even less than the $3,200 it sold for in December but I wish the seller the best and hope it sells for more.
