@Dave #5
In order to be the "hero", you would have to provide it for Free to the Trademark holder because asking for any fee would show bad faith. (Trying to profit from a trademark).
If the company was nice, yes it would be sweet if they provided you a small thank you that comes in the form of $$$$ ;)

@Jamie
Unless, and I may be wrong, (let me know what you think)
you buy it with the purpose of being the "hero" and turns around and sell it so them for a small (modist) fee. ?

@Dave
Purchasing a domain "after the fact" that a product or service is launched is likely to lead to "Bad Faith" and you will end up losing the domain if the company comes after you.

Jamie Zoch,

Great info.
Hypothetically, If you had found that the corporation didn’t own the domain name, and further investigation reveled that the product “brez” hadn’t been registered at all; Is it a “no no” to register the name an then offer to sell it to them? What options are out there for someone who finds a product brand name that doesn’t have a .com TDL associated with it?
