Late last week I decided to try out the new Buy It Now feature on SnapNames.com (Advanced search, Drop Down~ Buy It Now) as a seller and it appears to be working. I listed 9 domain names with BIN prices and after only 4 days 3 of the 9 sold!
2 are pending payment and I will announce those when payment is made but currently they appear to be waiting on a wire transfer. One is a High 4 figure and the other is a low to mid 4 figure. One that has completed already is FortuneReader.com for $225.
One key is listing the domain names fairly priced as with anytime you wish to sell a domain but I also think that many buyers do not want to "mess around" with waiting for an auction to end or bidding and so on. These are the buyers that are more likely to use the buy it now. Since this is "new" at SnapNames I also think buyers are having fun using it.
Another nice thing about listing domain names on SnapNames, is if they do not sell, you do not get charged. 20% if they do sell, but you can price at least 10-15% of that into your domains listing price and shouldn’t have a problem hiding.
As a seller, keep in mind that a lot of buyers simply just use SnapNames and not other sites like Sedo or Afternic. So it doesn’t hurt to give it a try with listing some. I know myself, I like SnapNames and Godaddy’s auction service and I use those two the most. I do backorder domain names at NameJet but very rarely bid as prices always seem to get pretty high.
SnapNames provides some really good buyers and sellers do often list nice names at fair prices. As a seller, your domain names must be with Moniker but after you list and sell a domain, you do not have to do the transfer/push as the domain is pushed directly from your account after the sale. For a buyer, this also means you get your domain pretty quickly!
Listing Hint: Look for "certain" styles of domain names that not many are listed. Example, currently NO 3 character domains are listed for Buy It Now. I know people search for them, so this will make your domain name get A LOT of attention! Priced fairly, it will sell as well! Only a hand full of 4 letter domains are listed and so on.
I was going to list some Buy It Now’s that I thought were fair but Snap happens to be updating their database right now.

How do I search for the names and bid which are on the daily auctions ? Is it the same process as searching & backordering the expired names ?

I am not sure I understand your question Charley? I am not 100% sure on which domains go into the Buy It Now status but I wouldn’t think the normal daily drops do. You can click Advanced Search and then use the drop down menu and select Buy It Now to see and search the Buy It Now domains. Hope this helps.
