CompuGroup Holdings AG has purchased the 3 letter acronym domain name CGM.com for $365,000 USD (sorry for the typo in the url and my earlier price of 385,000) topping the weekly sales chart at domain brokerage service Sedo.com!
This is a very strong 3 letter domain name sale. It appears the domain was simply parked before the purchase.
In a little interesting twist when I was looking into the CompuGroup site.. I simply typed compugroup.com to visit the companies website and got a page load error. The company seems to have failed to redirect compugroup.com to www.compugroup.com so leaving off the www. results in a web page that simply does not load.
CompuGroup appears to be a health care related business.
Some other reported sales include:
Bright.com $112,500 USD which is a very nice generic domain name with near unlimited potential.
iRepair.com at $12,500 as a nice brandable "i" related domain.
627.com at $11,700
There are a couple other 3 number domain names currently on auction at Sedo.com that boom over the 627.com sale. 363.com has a $40,000 bid as does 980.com . Both of these auctions end in about 5 days and both auctions have 1 bid with reserve met.

Wow, great 3 letter sale!
What we need to continue to realize is this: There are many companies that won’t bat an eye at a 6 or 7 figure investment in an asset that will help continue to push their business forward.
Great sale and congrats to CompuGroup on their acquisition.

I sold a two-word .com six months ago for $2.25 million. I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and the sale was not published in DNJournal.
I paid less than $300 for the domain on a godady drop auction less than two years ago!
I quit my job as a software engineer last month, and am managing my money now! I’ve spent over $250K on domains in the past 6-months…it’s a buyers market for sure…not a great time to be a seller, unless you have a very aggressive buyer.

That’s a nice sale. They need to fix that redirect, they’re probably losing good business
