Godaddy.com is offering a new contest and is asking you to create a Godaddy commercial how YOU think it should be done! Your submitted video should be 15-30 seconds and will be voted on to decide the winner. The winner of the contest will get some pretty sweet gear which includes:

  • A Dell® Alienware® Area 51® desktop ($3,000 value)
  • A Sony® HDR FX7 hi-def camcorder ($2,000 value)
  • Adobe® Premiere® software for Windows® ($700 value)
  • A Dell® Alienware TactX headset ($74.99 value)

Thousands of other prizes are available as well if you happen not to be the grand prize winner.

You can start to submit your video on Super Bowl® day (Feb 7, 2010) with submissions ending March 19, 2010 at Godaddy.com . The winner will be announced on or around April 26, 2010 . You can view full contest rules here .

I would have to bet that there will be some pretty unique video’s submitted and most will hold the edgy themed commercials that Godaddy airs for it’s Super Bowl ads. It will be fun to see them and vote on them as they start being submitted. All submission will be hosted on YouTube.com, so they have to fit the TOS of YouTube… which includes no nudity.

Here is the exact link you can go to on Feb 7, 2010 to submit your video.

You may remember another company, Doritos® used submitted videos and many were used during Super Bowl ads. Doritos continues to build off it’s contest and still offers them. You can still vote for this years Snack Strong Productions videos at CrashTheSuperBowl.com right now! Those are the finalist and voting ends Feb 1, 2010.

Doritos is using the full power of domain names and site creation and rocks out tons of little different ideas like…

Asylum626.com

Hotel626.com (click Hotel 626 when you are on the site) it’s the same as Asylum626.

UnlockXbox.com (likely have permission from Xbox to use the term in the domain)

and the domains seem to continue as you click around. I found the ones I stated just in a couple minutes as well as the SnackStrong.com and SnackStrongProductions.com sites. Good job Doritos!
