Nadya Suleman, the lady that had the octuplets recently hired Killeen Furtney Group on Jan 30, 2009 for crisis communications management and media relations according to prweekblogs.com .

According to Whois records, the Killeen Furtney Group purchased the domain name TheNadyaSulemanFamily.com at Network Solutions on 2-9-2009 and paid fee’s for 10 years of registration until 2019 (NSI happens to be one of the Most Expensive domain name registrars btw for .com domains. Even with a 48% discount for a 10 yr reg. the total would be $179.90).. and created a donation type site for their client.

Not only did Killeen Furtney Group purchase a really Long Domain Name for their client, they could of purchased a Much Better domain name the day they got hired that matched what people were already searching for! The clients Name. (Why you should own your own name, as a domain)

One example of a "better domain" is NadyaSuleman.com which was Available to hand register the very same day (according to the hire date posted above in the link) the Killeen Group was hired (1-30-2009).

NadyaSuleman.com was registered on 1-31-2009 and happens to be a WordPress blog and is being run by somebody that is not happy about the Octomom and the donation style site the Killeen Furtney Group has put up!! So clear to me, Nadya Suleman the octomom nor the Killeen Furtney Group own it. The domain is under whois protection. I sent some questions to the owner of NadyaSuleman.com and am waiting for a reply.

It has been reported yesterday (2-18-2009) by Fox News that:

Killeen Furtney Group’s president, Joann Killeen, said Saturday that her Los Angeles-based company was stepping down as Suleman’s publicist because of death threats.

Now this post is about helping pick The Right Domain that pertains to your site no matter who you are (business or person) and not about picking on a "company". Examples help people understand things better, so knowing the story above, here are  a couple "better" domains that could of been used IMO instead of the one picked.

They are: SulemanFamily.com which was registered (2-19-2009, today), NadyaSuleman.com (1-31-2009), Octomom.com (2001) but is not in use, so it may of been able to be purchased via Whois.sc Contact NadyaSulemanFamily.com (2-15-2009), SulemanOctuplets.com (1-31-2009).

The word THE, was 100% not needed in the domain the Killeen Furtney Group picked is my point. Secondly, natural branding for your site would Best match what people search for exactly. This was not done with the domain they picked. 4 words are much harder for Anybody to remember! I understand the "family" part, since it is a donation style site, but people do not use the internet the way the domain was purchased.

People use Search Terms on the internet, not "proper terms". In proper terms, yes,  The Nadya Suleman Family is the proper term. This is the internet and the search terms are Octomom, Nadya Suleman, Suleman Octuplets etc. These search terms make for a "better" domain to use, instead of a proper terminology because it’s the internet!
