It was reported by a very credible source that Fly.com sold to Travelzoo Inc. back in Feb 2009 for a reported $1,760,000 all cash deal and that Travelzoo would be putting up a site that month on Fly.com .

According to whois history records, Fly.com did change hands on 1-22-2009 from Flycor, LLC to Travelzoo Inc.

Today (6-26-2009), on Sedo.com the site that brokered the sale of Fly.com is reporting the "Recent Sale" of Fly.com for $1,600,000?

Sedo.com Fly.com Sales Report

Did Fly.com sell again and this time for $160,000 lose? According to whois records today, Fly.com has not changed hands. The DNS are the same as they have been recently and the Fly.com site is still in Beta and shows that site is still property of Travelzoo Inc.

I am thinking that either Sedo.com had some kind of error on their end and for whatever reason displayed the sale NOW at the wrong price or the sale price from back in Jan/Feb ($1.76MM) was not correct and it was really ($1.6MM) and the report is just coming out now from Sedo.

I am hoping Sedo will stop by this article and clear some things up, but one thing I know right now, is that Fly.com has not changed ownership according to the whois database.

P.S. Look at that last sale… since when can you have 1/4 in a domain name. LOL

One Response to Did Fly.com Sell Again? $1.6 Million or $1.76 Million?

I have seen fly.com adverised on TV by one of the major airline companies. I Do not remember which one. I would imagine it is the original buyer and they just made some updates to the whois.
