I have 100s of domain names, all using a cname to point the www record to a server so that I can have one domain for the settings (which the cname records point to).

If I want things to work without a www in the url - I can't use a cname as it's the root record.

I don't want to have to change 100s of a records when I move servers.

Is there a solution to cover the root level domains?

Unfortunately, you can't put a * in a zone file, or this would work well.
