Here is a little domain name micro-posting about some domain names that I have been watching and other domain related items.
~ OMG.com which Yahoo had purchased for $80K in early August still resolves to a dead page. According to whois, the DNS are still set to the old owners DNS which is a little odd. Yahoo is shown as the owner in whois. According to traffic tracker Compete.com, OMG.com get’s about 25K monthly unique visitors.
If a user were to type simply omg into the search bar at Google.com, they would see a direct link to the sub-domain omg.yahoo.com .
I would expect Yahoo to use OMG.com as a stand alone domain for it’s site they are currently using the sub-domain for and expected this to already happen.
~ I had reported the sale of Pizzerias.com that took place at Godaddy Auctions on 8-10-2009 which sold for $20,105. According to whois, the domain was purchased by a Mazen Ghani and is being parked with Parked.com . Again according to whois, Mazen owns about 145 other domain names.
A couple other domains Mazen owns doing a little search via Google are Maj.com which is also parked at Parked.com. 816.org also parked at Parked.com and AKS.net which is also parked at Parked.com . I think it is fair to say this domain was purchased by a domainer.
~ A little self promotion. I have RMB.org listed on SnapNames.com and the auction ends today at 2:15 PM CT. I had listed the domain starting at $79 and No Reserve. The current bid the last time I checked was $500, which is still a very fair price IMO for a 15 year old 3 letter domain with the quality of letters RMB holds. NFN.org is the most recent reported sale on NameBio that I would compare RMB.org to and that sold for $3,500.
