Since Sedo.com rolled out it’s new design earlier this week, I just now started playing around on the site and one thing that jumped out at me is the new (at least to me) Market Trends section on it’s site!
These are valuable charts for domain investors and can be great help for domain sales. The more ammo a domain seller has to bring to the table while making a sale, the better! For a buyer, it can also help to tell if the market is climbing or falling!
You can get to the Market Trends by just clicking that or visit Sedo.com directly, click the Resources tab and click the Market Trends from the drop down on the far left.
Sedo lays out domain sales by gTLD, ccTLD and the top 20 sales of the current quarter. Below that, you will see a couple links for Market Studies based on different quarters. The market studies are in PDF format.

Keep in mind that these are average sales prices just for Sedo domain sales! This in no way covers the whole industry. If you are a .com domain name investor, it sure is nice to see Q3 numbers compared to Q2 numbers! .org sales are up nicely in Q3 compared to Q1 and Q2 as well.
Afternic.com also offers a Market Trends section on their site but I must say that Sedo’s page and data layout is much better! Afternic is a bit outdated as they only have Q1 data available at time of posting. Afternic’s data is presented in a slide show. You can get to this section by visiting Afternic.com and then clicking the Domainer’s Advantage tab. Then select the Market Trends in the drop down menu.
Overall, these are nice and easy resources for a domain name seller to show an interested party and is also valuable data to base your buying or selling.

About a year ago, I tried to list a few “DN” and “FX” names in sedo. Problem was – these cant be searched… I contacted sedo ,and been told they are going to solve this problem.
I checked it again today – nothing changed.
