I had always still used Whois.sc to get to whois.domaintools.com. The domain name simply did a forward in the past but that is no longer the case! Pretty wise by DomainTools.com to do this, because Whois.sc will start ranking better in search engines IMO.
So what does the New Whois.sc look like and what is new?

Doing a whois search in the top box will still bring you to whois.domaintools.com/domainname.com and the domain name or ip you were searching and that page design is still the same.
New Stuff:
Recent Sales ~ displaying 7 recent domain sales using the already in place Domain Sales History. I covered 5 sources to find reported domain name sales in early June here, which also covered DomainTools.com domain sales history.
Top Websites ~ No explanation on "Top" but they are all very popular websites.
Domain Buzz ~ A short list of domain names generating buzz. No word on exactly what they mean by "buzz" but I would have to assume "whois look-ups"?
Historic Thumbnails ~ This was part of the "pay service" in the past but now is free! It shows screen shots of websites currently and in the past.
Popular IP Addresses ~ This one speaks for itself. Shows some of the more popular IP addresses currently.
Popular Services ~ See who is behind some of the most popular services on the web. Just displays whois info on some of the most popular sites.
Nothing over the top but a couple more things to look at if you are a Whois.sc user instead of visiting whois.domaintools.com .

Damn kids! I remember when whois.sc WAS whois.sc, then they changed it to redirect to domain tools.
All the bad Google juice from the referer spam they used to build up whois.sc in the first place must have worn off the domain to the point they feel safe moving the main service back.
