Here is a little bit of what I have been up to this weekend and today. I wanted to take it a bit easy this weekend and do something other then domaining. I feel like I have been going non-stop lately with DotWeekly, domaining and developing.

So I took a little time out and did some work around the house, helped a neighbor rebuild a trailer (utility) and on Sunday I ventured up to our hunting land about 40 miles north from where I live and worked on my 4-Wheeler that has not been running well lately.

After about 3 hours worth of work draining the gas tank, cleaning valves, hoses and the carb…. Success! The 4-Wheeler is running great again. It sure makes you feel good when you can fix something after putting in a little work and hold the knowledge to do the work.

Today, I did a little bit more development work on yet another test site, although I really didn’t plan on doing much. I figured since I dug into the insurance domains development that I wrote about on early Saturday, I would play around with what I found out today when it was still fresh in my mind.

I also worked with Tia Wood today on yet another development project, but I am leaving this one up to her. She offers a great service which I will be writing about more soon, which I think many of you will like as well. This project should be done shortly and I will tell you more about it when Tia lets me know it is done.

The OnlineStats.com domain I sold on Sedo.com is finally wrapping up. I had sent it to auction on a $250 offer on 9-6-2009 . The auction ended on 9-12-2009 for $800 and today (9-28-2009) I got notification from Sedo to push the domain.. I am sure it will take a couple days for payment to arrive in my account… so it very well could reach the 1 Month mark to close the deal.

30 days is a good deal longer then I like to take to close a small deal like this, but as a seller, you really have little control over when the buyer makes payment and how fast the third party service moves. I have noticed some reps at Sedo are much faster then others. The current one I am working with only replies every 24 hours At Best, which clearly slows the process.

I noticed that GUM.com is listed via Afternic with a Buy It Now of $298,000. Pretty darn nice domain considering all the gum companies that are around. Then to think of how many pieces of gum are consumed every single day…. Gum.com just might end up being the next 6 figure domain sale reported. Great domain for sure.

    Gum.com is a good domain. I look forward to see who picks it up.

    I picked up an AWESOME geo domain this week. Cost me a pretty penny but I think it will be well worth the price once I have the full site developed.

    Within 4-6 months I plan on having 5 geo domains fully developed. The three “runts” of the lot are LexingtonFayette.com (A metro area in KY with 660,000 on Google maps it is even called “Lexington-Fayette”, YellowstoneNationalPark.net and TulsaOklahoma.net.

    The two premier domains just about knock the socks off of those two, but I am waiting to announce those when they are finished.

    Anyway, Love the blog.

    jamie,

    thrilled to hear buyer finally came through and paid up.. i was bidding in this, nice name and hey- at least price increased couple hundred extra bucks, lol.. at the end of the auction, was thinking its a nice name and wish i had won it but somewhat bad timing at my end and not being liquid really.

    i didnt check who the new owner is but if he reads this post-dont take so long to pay up.. you got a prime name dirt cheap..

    @Jeff,
    Thank you! I think I applied a little pressure at the 10 day mark after the auction ended and Sedo in return applied pressure on the buyer to make payment as I was going to cancel the auction. ;)
