Here is another installment of my DotWeekly Discoveries (click to see the series) that included domain name finds of "new" domain names that were hand registered or acquired recently by large companies. Many of these domain name are "hints" to future products, services, ad campaigns etc from these companies and more.

Zynga

The extremely popular game maker appears to have hand registered the domain name ZyngaFanArmy.com . The domain name doesn’t resolve currently. ZyngaWithFriends.com was also a "new" domain I ran into and that one forwards to NewToyInc.com . NewToy and Zynga joined forces according to this article in early December 2010.  Words With Friends is a popular mobile game and they appear to use the "With Friends" term with other keywords. For an example, they recently launched the "You With Friends" contest on the NewToy blog. Zynga nor NewToy own WithFriends.com, which would be a good domain to own if they run with the term, simply due to sub-domain uses IMO.

Bayer

Hand registered the two domain names ScienceOfPain.com and ScienceOfPainRelief.com

Bombardier

Hand registered the domain name UltimateSeadooFan.com likely for a future promotion of its Seadoo brand.

PBS (Public Broadcasting Service)

Acquired the domain name ParentShow.com from BuyDomains.com for $2,149 USD. PBS airs a show called The Parent Show w/ Angela Santomero, so it’s a nice fit for PBS and a make sense domain to own.

Jack Spurr

The secret buyer is still active and appears to be pretty active at BuyDomains.com . This time the domain name that was purchased was SmashBox.net . I wasn’t able to come up with a price that it sold for. Potential buyer is SmashBox.com, which is a cosmetic brand.

Kimberly Clark

Hand registered several domain names relating to its Cottonelle brand and those include RespectTheRoll.com, RespectTheRole.com, CottonelleRespectTheRoll.com and CottonelleRespectTheRole.com . I would expect these domains to be used in some sort of promotion by Cottonelle with the main message being "Respect The Roll". The role domains were like purchased as typo covers! (Update: Cottonelle has launched the ad campaign and it’s related to toilet paper roll covers).

Dreamworks Animation

The amazing movie company, may have a few future projects in the works with the name MeatLug.com and HookFang.com due to recent hand registrations of those two domain names. The also registered the .net, .org and .biz TLD’s
