So why has the traffic been going up at DotWeekly.com?

Focus & Doing the DO.

Focus:

Keeping in mind that the internet is about providing the answer to what people search for, really does work. Helping when help is needed. Long Tail Keywords are the easiest to rank for, but shorter terms can be done as well. Use tools like Google Trends to help tell you what’s HOT and a lot of people are searching for. Then be helpful and provide Text, Pictures, Video and links to match what they are searching for.

Doing The Do:

The basics of Doing The Do. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder then words. Parking your domain names will NOT get you this kind of traffic, rank for different keywords you want to etc. Building a website is all about the DO. It takes a bit of time, but done right the traffic will come! I do not think Mini-Sites can provide this either.

For DotWeekly.com, I can still write about domain names and the internet as a whole, while keeping both my domain readers happy by showing many helpful thing I do daily, but also help those who are "searching" for things today, next week or a month from now.

If you missed my past two write ups on How to get ranked in search engines fast and using google trends for your domain advantage you may want to read them now.

Providing help doesn’t have to just come from Google Trends. I use Twitter.com all the time to see what the masses are searching for Search.Twitter.com (asking for help, without coming out and asking for it). Then provide the help via a write up and then send all the people asking the same question, to the link to the post you wrote up about it or already had wrote. Consider it the "easy way" to explain a question Thousands of times.

Use Social Networks like Twitter.com, Facebook.com etc. Lot’s of people using them, so why ignore them.
