Taco Bell get’s you to Think Outside The Bun™ and now they want you to check out there DriveThruDiet.com site which features the new Fresco Menu.

I must admit, when I saw the commercial yesterday, I thought it was a spoof. I have yet to see any fast food style chain going with a weight loss style commercial. A customer saying they lost X amount of weight eating X. Well, that is how the commercial came across to me and since the term "Diet" is in the domain, it may come across like that to others as well.

Taco Bell is quick to point out on it’s site that the Drive-Thru Diet® site with the Fresco Menu is not a weight-loss program but it’s Fresco Menu holds items that are 20-100 calories less than what’s on the regular menu.

The microsite features "Christine" and her story, who lost 54lbs over two years by making better choices and ordering lower calorie and lower fat foods. The site also features the Fresco Menu and even a FREE coupon for a Fresco Taco!

The site uses nice linking features back to it’s flagship site TacoBell.com in a couple ways. One, the TacoBell logo on the top of the site which helps visitors know it’s part of Taco Bell. The Free Taco Coupon is also linked to TacoBell.com, although you may not even notice you land on TacoBell.com as the page looks identical to the DriveThruDiet.com site but if you look in the address bar, you are on TacoBell.com .

Taco Bell has used several other domain names for marketing purposes in the past as well. A couple that I can remember are ThinkOutsideTheBun.com,  FourthMeal.com and clearly TacoBell.com .

Taco Bell is owned by Yum brands, which uses Yum.com .
