I had used Freshdrop.net in the past and really felt like it was a valuable tool to domain name buyers. I mainly used the data for GoDaddy Auctions and the large amount of metrics provided was a great asset to finding investment quality domain names. The problem, Freshdrop went to a pay model with the GoDaddy Auctions feed. Not that big of a deal because it is worth paying for the data you see. The further problem? It is not cheap to have a "PRO" account… $98.95 Per Month!

That’s a lot in my books!

So I went on a search for a similar service that offered a more reasonable monthly price and I found it. DropDay.com

DropDay.com is set up very similar to Freshdrop.net. They do not have the amount of feeds FD has (Sedo, Ebay, Pool, Afternic) but they have the most popular and very similar metrics.

DropDay has the following feeds of domain names

  • GoDaddy Expired
  • GoDaddy Closeouts
  • SnapNames.com Exclusive
  • NameJet.com PreRelease
  • Unexclusive List

Considering that is basically what FD offers for what the majority of people use, the fee to use DropDay.com is a lot cheaper than Freshdrop.

FreshDrop ~ $98.95 Per Month according to their "SetUp" page

DropDay.com Domain List Tool w/ MetricsDropDay.com pricing:

1 Month Only (No Automatic Renewal) $19.90

Monthly subscription $18.90

Quarterly subscription $50.70 ($16.90/month)

Semi-Anual subscription $89.40 ($14.90/month)

Anual subscription $154.80 ($12.90/month)

DropDay.com is a much better value IMO, since they offer very similar metrics on the most popular feeds of domain names! I don’t know about you, but I would rather pay $18.90 a month than $98.95!

DropDay offers a free 10 day trial without requiring you to input any financial details, which is also nice. You simply create a free account with your name and email address and you are set up!

Some of the metrics DropDay.com offers include:

  • Visit Per Day (Traffic)
  • Google PR
  • Google Links
  • Yahoo Links
  • Linking Sites
  • Google SERP’s (indexed pages)
  • Yahoo SERP’s
  • Bing SERP’s
  • DMOZ
  • Creation Year (Domain Age)
  • Wayback history age
  • Searches per month
  • CPC

Well, you get my point.. like I said, they basically offer the metrics FD does, at a fraction of the cost. So now that you are aware of DropDay.com, check them out. I know I never wanted to pay almost $100 a month to use Freshdrop and I think at under $20 a month, DropDay.com provides what I need at a much lower price point! Is the site perfect, no but no site is. Overall, it is a great tool at a fair monthly rate.

If you were wondering.. no, this is not a paid post! I like to help out and when I find something that I think people would benefit from and save some money in the process, I want to make sure you are aware of it.

I have nothing bad to say about Freshdrop.net, I just think the monthly rate is a bit high. Competition is a good thing for consumers and DropDay.com offers this to Freshdrop.
