If you use the DRT software, for now I would NOT upgrade to the new 2.1.0 version that was released today. I am have nothing but problems with the newest version.
Basically, what the software is scanning, is NOT matching what I selected in the tool. In return, it’s as slow as a turtle and not returning what I want.
I really love the tool, but it appears there are some bugs with this release (at least for me). I know how to use the tool, so it’s not something I did or didn’t do in the settings etc. I have sent in the bug, so I will report on what is replied back to me when I get it.
Now I really wish I had an old version so I could use it…
Update:
The biggest problem that I am having is: I do not have anything to do with Altavista checked, nor do I have the "Advertisers" section selected. When I run my scan, it’s checking Altavista TP which is drastically slowing down the scan.
Second problem, I do not have the Deep Whois selected and it’s doing a deep whois check. I do have the normal whois selected.
I was able to speed up the search a little by lowering the number of times DRT allows a check (Altavista). So I lowered that number down from 20 to 3. This helped with speed and still allowed for my normal whois feature to work. It’s still not right but I am able to get it to work a little bit better, but these issues need to be fixed. No more replies from Luc since I heard from him this morning.

Thanks for the update… I’m one of those that run the updates asap.
Beside the bugs… what’s new in this version? Will we be able to edit the whois servers’ list? Working with some ccTLD is pain in the neck…
Has it improved the way it recognize keywords? Sometimes, he pick nonsense keywords even for english domains.
Will Castillo
Nope… I just checked its change log and the whois servers lists seems to be the same… I wonder why it is encrypted.

Luc has replied to my bug report and has fixed the error for the missing dictionary file. I am still having issues while running a scan…. which is slowing the tool down massively. The software is checking Altavista Term Popularity and Deep Whois when I do not have them selected to do so. I have reported this, but Luc replied the first time about checking my settings (this is not the first time I used this) so I clearly had my settings correct and replied back that the settings on my end were not the issue.

I am trying to upload a text file of .coms domains, getting an error that my file is not formatted properly.. I have used this before without issue. My file is a text file with domains like this:
domain1.com
domain2.com
Any idea what could be wrong?

What Will stated. Did you download the new version? Secondly, you may have one domain that is not in a row? A way around the import a list, is copy your list of domains. Then go to Options/Add Domains. The right click, past the list and click Add Domains.

I can’t even start DRT now.
Every time it starts it tries updating and then fails with message “Version in Process_update subroutine. Process counter disabled”

@ Dave,
Maybe Luc is working on some of the bugs (I hope)

Hello Jamie,
I’ve still not update to the latest version… Any feedback on its current status? It is still slow?
