eBay partner network (EPN) has decided to make some changes with it’s RSS feed and this is also what the BANS (Build A Niche Store) and PhpBay scripts run off of. You can see the release from eBay’s blog there but they state if your site is having problems and you are running it with BANS or PhpBay, to contact them, not eBay. Why eBay made this sudden change is unclear but my sites are not working now!
I happen to run a couple BANS sites and they appear to be loading perfectly fine, but upon clicking a product to go to eBay, I got this:

So clearly there is a problem! Again, I am using BANS for the specific site above that doesn’t work (ColorWax.com). I would not of been aware that the "links" were not working unless I clicked as the site appears to be working normal. From what I read, it only effects certain parts of the script.
I did not see any response at BuildANicheStore.com about any fixes coming out or how to adjust to make things work with a new release. The owners have been trying to sell the site and been going back and forth, so I do not expect any quick fixes via BANS! You will likely need to make some changes or your traffic is being wasted.
PhpBay.com made a statement and they have made adjustments but you have to update to the new release, so things should be work after you do that, but it is best to check for yourself and be sure to update. You have to update the auctions.php file for things to work!

Another reason why you can’t trust eBay.

… but you can still make money off them.
I got hit big too, but fixed my sites pretty quickly. Jamie, if you want to try my latest wp plugin/theme, drop me a line… e.g. http://luggageauthority.com

I’m using bayrss. A great script but their support sucks big time.
Joe
bayrss is down currently needless to say.

Did anyone figure out how to fix things on the BANS side (not PHPBay – regular sites)? I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks!
