The website EduBlogs.org has purchased the domain name EduBlogs.com for $18,000 at Sedo.com.
EduBlogs.org states "Since 2005, Edublogs has been hosting blogs and providing custom blogging platforms to individual teachers, school districts and hundreds of thousands of students. We’ve grown to become the largest, most trusted, best supported and widely used way for teachers and students to engage with the world of blogging."

EduBlogs.com has been registered since October 6, 2004.
On or about August 17, 2011 EduBlogs.org reached the 1 Million blogs milestone and currently has about 1.1 Million. EduBlogs, WPMU Dev plugin and Incsub brand are all owned by the same company.
NameMedia owns the domain name EduBlog.com and currently has it listed for sale at $130,500… so I don’t see them buying that one anytime soon. Incsub does not own EduBlog.org either.

Weird – had tried to post about this sale on Facebook and FB wouldn’t let me, saying the URL EduBlogs.com was blocked for spam. Hopefully the new owners of it can get any such issues straightened out on it.

@Steve,
That is interesting and likely something they likely didn’t even know if it is the case (blocked for spam).
