This isn’t that big of a deal but I couldn’t resist posting it because I thought it was funny as hell and is also not very professional!
Moniker rep John M fires off what I would consider a preset email before today’s auction at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. offering any assistance I would need about a specific domain, proxy bidding etc.
Still scratching my head if SmartLink.com is really listed by At&t.. I want confirmation, so I send an email reply to his email asking for confirmation.
What do I get back seconds later?
An out of office reply! LOL Thanks for the help!

The out of office reply stated that he will have limited access to email blah blah blah. Why offer help and then have an out of office auto reply set….
I would suggest if you are sending out an email to assist your clients, you be available to assist. An automated Out Of Office reply doesn’t look all that great when somebody does ask for help.
To top it off:
Since the first email I got was likely wrote up a little while back, I would also think somebody would proof read the email. I know if I owned OfficeSupply.com and was paying 15-20% sales commission, I wouldn’t be thrilled with the following error.

A little typo, but still something that should of been caught before sending it out to clients.
Two goofs in one email forced me into writing about it
Update: The auction is now over and still no reply!

Hmm! The Moniker guys need to improve.

You think that’s unprofessional? How about this Email Fail

I sometimes appreciate it when I’m sending an important e-mail and I receive an ‘out of office’ auto-reply.
1) I know that my situation will not be answered ASAP through e-mail, so I try to relax a bit and don’t explode sending “WTF are u doing and not replying to me!”
2) If the situation is super important, I can use other mediums to contact someone (like the telephone).

@Sammy,
I agree when you are sending the email it is nice to get notification they are out of the office. In this case, the moniker rep sent me the email asking if I needed any help.. I did and replied and got the out of office reply. Never did hear from the rep about the domain I had in question.

@ADB,
Yep, things like that shouldn’t happen. If you send an email out to help, you should be around to help.
