Domain related companies are starting to pop-up for sale all over the place lately! It’s a new year, but I’m not sure if this is a good sign or a bad one for the domain industry!

DomainState.com was first to break news it’s for sale.

Today, I got an email from EscrowDNS.com that it’s for sale. Escrow DNS is a domain name escrow service. The email states:

"Our company has built EscrowDNS up to where we want it to be and it’s now time for someone else to take it to the next level. We owe a great deal of our success to our members and their loyalty. We DO NOT plan on selling the site to just anyone..all perspective buyers will be pre-screened and the site will only be sold to someone with the capability of running the service as we have. The sale of the site will include the domain name, site, BBB accreditation, transfer of the company to the new buyers and hard copies of all previous escrow transactions. Anyone interested in purchasing the site can submit an offer to support@escrowdns.com. All financial information will be disclosed to SERIOUS buyers only.  Please do not expect any changes to happen over night, the screening of buyers and transfer of support will take time so you will not be experiencing any interruption in service."

I have used Escrow DNS and it’s a great service! Justin Godfrey, the man behind Escrow DNS is a great guy as well and a well known domainer!

Let’s hope this is a good sign that these services are going up for sale and as domainers, let’s hope that the buyers (if any) help to continue to promote the domain industry and provide great services. I will have some more "sale" news to come as well shortly.

Good luck with the sale Justin G. I think you’ll need it IMHO.
