Update: As of 4/6/2010 this is still not fixed.
I park most of my domain names with Fabulous.com and use the For Sale option to have interested parties contact me. I switch this from time to time from Email Notification to directing interested parties to my Sedo listings, Afternic listing and a site that I have set up.
Long story short… I send test emails from time to time on random domains I own and I was not getting the emails today when I tested it. This means if somebody was interested in a domain name and tried using the Fabulous contact form from your parking page, you would not get it. The form works itself but the email never arrived.
I have contacted Fabulous to report the problem and got the following reply:
Hey Jamie,
Looking at the problem, there does appear to be an issue with our Sales Notification emails.
I can confirm that the Sales Notification emails are reaching Gmail accounts. If you have a Gmail account, I would recommend using it for your Sales Notifications until we can get this sorted out.
My apologies for the inconvenience.
I will be in touch as soon as we have resolved the problem.
Kind regards,
I just wanted to make you aware of this if you use Fabulous parking and have an inquire link / banner. I was able to get the form to work sometimes but it didn’t work every time. This may also alert you to never put total trust in "email forms" and it is wise to test them from time to time to make sure they are actually working.
I am not sure how long the email form emails have not been working but it has been a little while since I tested it last.
I will update this post when I hear back from Fabulous. For those that do not have a gmail account, you can also:
- Login at Fabulous.com
- Click the Sell / Buy tab
- Click the Account Settings link
- Select Redirect Sales Traffic
- Then enter in a link like this http://sedo.com/search/details.php4?domain=%domain%&tracked=&partnerid=&language=us
- Click Apply Changes near bottom
You should only do this if you have your domain names listed with Sedo. You can use this post as well to find link structures for several popular domain services. Be sure to put %domain% where the domain name would go in the link. This allows Fabulous to match the specific domain name to the parking page the person is on when redirecting. Once things are fixed, you can turn it back to email contact if you wish or you may like sending interested parties directly to your listing page.

Fabulous is not so fabulous anymore! That’s pretty much the main reason why I stick with Fabulous too, to utilize the sales leads.
