Last week I talked about another option to domain name parking and building sales pages for your domain names. This will not always make you more money right away, but can increase the value of your domain name with search engine rankings which increases traffic and puts more eye’s on your domain name for sale.
I spent a little time over the holiday weekend building another template to use for this process as domain parking numbers keep on tanking!
This time instead of a single sales page like HandTrowel.com, I added a couple other money making options with Google Adsense and two "stores" using page tabs. The store pages use the Amazon affiliate program (direct link using keyword) and eBay affiliate program (custom banner). I also added a Contact Us page with a form on it and Buy Domain tab that directly links to my Sedo listing page.
This site ended up being pretty close to a Minisite, but this basic site is more about selling the domain, while pleasing the "other" visitors at the same time with the store tabs and adsense.
Since everybody that will be visiting the site will not be an interested buyer of the domain, my goal was to please the shoppers, while also making it clear the domain name itself was for sale.
GripTape.net is the domain name for this new test.
I wanted to use a .net this time to see how it does compared to how the .com I used in last test in search engines.
I once again used xSite Pro2, but you could also use WordPress or what ever system you use. I like xSite as you can save the site as a template with all text, images, meta, keywords and so on! Then if you wish to make another site on a different domain, you simply start a new project, select the template you saved and replace keywords fitting to the new domain you are starting and you are done.
Using a template and having in the majority of info you already wish in place, allows you to put in about 10-20 minutes into each domain/site and your done.
Let me know what you think of this template compared to the one page design I used on HandTrowel.com . This template will work good for "product" related domains but by simply removing the "store page tabs" also allows for just about any domain to be used.

I like your other one better I must say…I did get inspired and put up about 8 domains for sale landing pages as well. Wont spam your post but if you like to tell me what you think about the content (sales pitch) email me for the domains.

I think I liked the other one better as well. Also, for Amazon you should set up an aStore which will let you drop in an iframe like you did with the eBay one, makes it look a lot cleaner than linking to Amazon.

@Mike,
Since Google hates iFrames, I didn’t want to take the chance of it hurting SEO for GripTape.net with using an aStore. My main reason for the site is to make it rank better in SE’s. The eBay store is just a script and does not use iFrames.
