Kleenex®, one of the most commonly known and often said brands without even thinking of it, rolled out a new ad that I can say that I really didn’t understand the message they were trying to get across.
At the end of the TV ad, Kleenex used the domain name GetMommed.com . That left me scratching my head even a little bit more.
Get Mommed. What is Mommed? Not a word that I would say you hear everyday.
Visiting the site for this story (not because of the ad) you are welcomed to a flash filled site asking you if you are "looking for a little extra mothering this time of year". The cold and flu season.
You will then see 8 different ladies who randomly say a short line like "Nobody loves you more than me", "Do you need a hug" and "You can call me super mom".
I guess the ad was saying, when you are sick, it is nice to have mom around to give you the extra love and care and hand you a Kleenex tissue when you need it. Or something like that.
From a domain aspect, as I said.. I didn’t really understand the commercial and the domain is a little bit odd to say the least.
Kimberly Clark Corporation registered the domain name in late August of 2009 and has it registered currently through 2011.

Your commercial makes me sick. what do you mean trying out a few mom? YOur mom is your mom no matter what. Watching the kids stomp out of the house to look for a new mom is sickening.

I agree with the comments that dont like this commercile. It is entertaining but thats just sick and cruel to think of “tryin out a few moms”, just because of something stupid like they put on that commercile. I love my mom and i would never try to trade her in, i mean thats just cruel to think about, even as a joke!

Somebody ought to slap the knothead that cami up with this “getmommed”! Then slap their momma. Shame on you. The attitude and disrespect these guys show towards mom’s make me want to slap the head of Kleenex. Take this commercial off the air.

This is the most poor taste commerical I have ever seen and there has been some dumb ones out there. I will never buy Kleenex again! How dare you suggest that it is so easy and perfectly ok to choose a new mom, my Mother passed away 20 years ago, and I admit that we had some ups and downs, but I would never , and have never wished for a new mom. I have wished that I could have mine back with me, but I can’t, but would never even consider another one. I am also a mother of four girls and hope they know, in fact I am sure they know, that they can always count on me. This is a SICK commerical and very disrespectful to Mother’s every where.

Relax a little folks, its just an ad. I thought it was fun to try to find the mom closest to my own parenting style. Don’t take it so seriously. btw… you have to click on the mom to get a background and story of each mom.

I really dislike the tv spot. I don’t like how they throw out the mom and run away and treat them with disrespect. It’s terrible that they abuse moms and mistreat them. It’s rather quiet terrible. I went to the website to dig up the purpose of this marketing. But what is the main point? You see back ground information on these fake moms. But it doesn’t make me want to purchase the product. It actually makes me annoyed more than anything. Well, hopefully they will pull the adds and save us all. Those who don’t find it offensive must not understand the commercial or they are ignorant and don’t see the sexist and rude undertones of the add.

Your Marketers must be Gay. No real human would come up with such an offensive commercial. It is the gayest commercial I have ever seen. it’s offensive and sick. I will never purchase Kleenex product in my life because of this Advertising. I don’t know how you could make Kleenex offensive but you did it.

I have to agree with some of the others – watching the guy stomping out on his MOTHER is NOT very nice to view – we do not TRY OUT MoM’s – we love them unconditionally as they love us the same! Shame on you Kleenex for this portrayal of a guy SHOPPING for a MoM!
