Dreamworks has registered several domain names hinting at a "Giants" movie. The interesting thing, Universal Studios, a different movie company owns the exact match dot com, GiantsMovie.com!

Dreamworks registered the following domain names on October 29, 2011

dreamworksgiants.com
giants-thefilm.com
giants-thefilm.net
giants-thefilm.org
giants-themovie.com
giants-themovie.net
giants-themovie.org
giantsmovie.net
giantsmovie.org
giantsthefilm.com
giantsthefilm.net
giantsthefilm.org
giantsthemovie.net
giantsthemovie.org

Universal Studios has owned the domain name GiantsMovie.com since it was created on 2/2/2001.

I did several searches relating to Dreamworks and Universal Studios to see if they have a partnership of some kind but it doesn’t appear so. They did have a distribution deal at one time but it appears that is no longer in place.

There could be the potential that DreamWorks purchased the rights to the movie/idea from Universal Studios and the domain name GiantsMovie.com may have been included in the deal but simply hasn’t changed ownership yet. DreamWorks was proactive to cover the remaining domain names after the agreement?

It will be something to keep an eye on to see what happens with GiantsMovie.com and or if any film is even released.

Another interesting side note, GiantsMovie.com is "parked" with DomainSponsor and has been for many years. The domain is registered at NetworkSolutions, so it wouldn’t be a "default" DNS setting.

It is written that Thurop Van Orman, the creator of Cartoon Network’s The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, had three meetings about a project called Black Forest, which is about giants, with Dreamworks Animation.
So I guess this may be the “Giants Movie” you’re wondering about.
