Godaddy Auctions has rolled out a new look (to me at least) with some added features to it’s bidding page. Some of the new features make it nice and easy to place your bid and see some stats, but somethings didn’t work all that great for me. Here is the new look, which you would see by clicking a specific domain name that is on auction.

Godaddy.com Auctions Bid Page

One problem that I had, was every time that I placed a bid I had to put a check mark next to the "terms". If I agreed to them once, you would think I wouldn’t have to again if I need to place another bid.I had to agree to them with each bid. Once I did place the check mark and clicked Bid Now, a pop-up window would come up after the fact… more annoying then anything.

In the upper right hand corner there is an Approximate Time clock. Without hitting the refresh button, the clock ticks down. Do I fully trust this clock? Not a 100% but it at least gives you a pretty good idea of the amount of time left in auction without needing to hit refresh.

The "visits to this page" is something new. Not sure that number will tell you anything helpful or not… but it’s there. A person can "watch" and auction without visiting the bid page and also view the domain in the "list" of domains. One thing I would not mind seeing is a "watchers" number. The amount of users watching a specific domain.

There is a text link under the domain called Character Details which will show you the domain in all caps or lowercase if clicked. Not sure why it shows you the domain in all caps, as it does already on the biding page.

The similar auctions feature was in the last bid page, but I think the overall layout is greatly improved as all the info you really need is visable with not much if any scrolling needed.

All in all I think it’s a nice change with a clean look!

BankOwned.org ended for $143 btw. I did not bid that high, but I did bid.

Its been a while I have not been to godaddy auctions. Thanks for the info on new bidding page. I have never been a big fan of the 2 minute extention of the auction if someone bids with less than 2 minutes left in auction end.

The TOS thing is freaking ridiculous. If you login to the auction regularly or even once you shouldn’t have to do that on every freakin bid you make.

While this is better in that most of the important stuff now is at the “top of the fold”, GD still needs to have their UI people listen to customers.
