Godaddy.com has been in NASCAR sponsoring a truck series truck. In the Nationwide Series as a primary sponsor for the #88 and driver Brad Keslowski, the #5 Nationwide Series car in a couple races with several different drivers and an associate sponsor on the #5 car in the Sprint Cup Series.
Godaddy has provided sponsorship deals for the Hendrick Motorsports entry #25 Sprint Cup Car driven by Brad as well. The #25 machine only ran a limited season.
Brad Keslowski was a shoe-in for the #5 Hendrick Motorsports ride when Mark Martin decided to leave, but Mark never decided to leave and retire!
This caused Brad to jump ship and head over to Penske Racing for 2010 in the Sprint Cup Series (the highest division) and drive the #12 machine.
I had wondered what Godaddy.com would do with their primary sponsorship that was on the #88 Chevrolet in the Nationwide Series with Brad leaving. I even asked Godaddy PR directly and they provided no info at the time and not even now! (I need a new contact at GD clearly)
Today, Hendrick Motorsports announced for the 2010 season that GoDaddy.com will sponsor the #5 Chevrolet driven by Mark Martin in the Sprint Cup Series!
Godaddy inked a 20 race deal that includes the big race to start off the year for NASCAR, the Daytona 500!
Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder of Godaddy was quoted on Nascar.com :
Mark Martin is the consummate professional and a very exciting driver, to say the least.
He’s the sentimental favorite for this year’s Sprint Cup championship, and we’re stoked to have him driving for Go Daddy next year.
Rick Hendrick, owner of one of the biggest and most popular teams in NASCAR also quoted in the same story on Nascar.com had this to say:
GoDaddy.com is an exciting, aggressive partner with immense marketing savvy.
The fact that they’re again expanding their relationship with us says a lot about the success of their business and the results they’ve seen from these programs. It’s extremely rewarding to have a partner grow with our organization, and we’re looking forward to repaying them with performance.
Congrats to Godaddy.com and Hendrick Motorsports on the deal they signed for the 2010 racing season in the Sprint Cup Series. IMO, this is further Great News for domain name investors as Godaddy keeps shinning light on domain names.
