Google has changed the world as we know it. Nearly 31 Billion searches are done Per Month on the site! Not only has Google changed our lives, but it also offers several cool little search options that many might not be aware of.

You simply add these to your search while at Google as they appear in the examples below. (most work at other SE’s like Yahoo as well)

define:love

You can change the word you wish to have defined and a definition is displayed if it’s a dictionary word. Pretty cool! So the next time you are unaware of the meaning of a word, save some time by doing a normal search and use the above define: .

site:thedomainname.com

This will display All indexed pages specifically for the site you search for. I use this often in the domain buying process. If a site is already ranked, it’s a time saver. The more the better is often the case.

link:thedomainname.com

This will display sites that link to the specific domain name you search for. This allows you to check and see the "quality" of links for the specific domain and the amount. You will see different results by adding www.

#…#

Price Range $100-$200

inurl:domain

This will search for the keyword ONLY in the URL.

cache:domainname.com

This will find only the cached pages for the specific domain name.

allintitle:keyword

Only shows matching keywords in the title.

safesearch:breast cancer

This will exclude adult content.

Then you have other useful ones like

movie:flash of genius

This will pull up Move Reviews for the searched term. Doesn’t get much easier finding movie reviews then that!

stocks:ebay

Shows the stock info

weather:54313

Gives local weather info based on the zip code you put in.

These can all lead to finding more relevent info that you are looking for much easier! You can also search for things like UPC codes by just entering in the whole number.

    Jamie,
Could you give an example of how this one is used?

    @ Patrick

An example would be like if you were searching for a broom. Your search would look like this:
    broom $5…$35
That will result in returns of the keyword and in that price range ;)

Also, another cool Google trick is that you can use Google just like a calculator. For example, simply type in almost any basic mathematical expression like 257 + 345 + 877 and Google will give you the correct answer.
