The domain name Grapple.com has sold at Sedo.com for $34,000 USD with whois records changing to a Mark Taylor of Bellevue, WA.

I am not 100% sure if GrappleFruits.com was the buyer or not… but they are located in WA as well. It could just be a coincidence that they are both located in Washington but GrappleFruits.com could be the buyer of the Grapple.com domain name.

So what the heck is a Grāpple® brand apple? An apple with a grape flavor! Our as the meta description for GrappleFruits.com states:

"The Washington Apple that looks like an apple and tastes like a grape!"

Whaaaa?!?!?

Now I love apples and enjoy eating grapes from time to time but I guess I would never think of the two together. It appears that people really enjoy them based on the Grapple’s Facebook page from a recent event in Wisconsin "People waited upto 2 HOURS to try our product and a chance to win a soccer ball — AMAZING !!!"

If GrappleFruits.com was the buyer it will be a nice domain upgrade for them, although at a price. Grapple.com not only looks and sound more professional to its brand, people likely would often forget the term "fruits" at the end of the companies domain name which would result in lost buyers/traffic.

The company currently does offer the unique apples for sale online but uses the Barrett Orchards site of TreeRipened.com to offer them for sale in 4 packs, gift boxes and more. If they did purchase Grapple.com, they likely will change that, as I think it would be wise to keep it directly on that site

Congrats to the seller and buyer either way even if it turns out not to be GrappleFruits.com with its unique product as the buyer.  markus@climatepublishing.com is listed in whois, so clearly the buyer may not be GrappleFruits.com but everybody loves a good story from time to time anyway! ;)

On The Net:

GrappleFruits.com

TreeRipened.com

and now you know there are apples that taste like grapes!
