Got your undies in a bunch? Hanes.com comes to the rescue with its WedgieFree.com 301 redirect to its wedgie free underwear page at Hanes.com!
I have been seeing a lot of Hanes® commercials lately and they always nicely promote their main website domain name Hanes.com in each and every ad that I see, so while doing a little research today into what "other" domain names the Hanes brand has in its stable, WedgieFree.com was one that grabbed my attention.
The domain does a redirect to http://www.hanes.com/Hanes/Categories/Women-Hanes/Women_Collection-Hanes/Women_C_NRU-Hanes.aspx/ so it was a bit surprising to me that the domain is indexed as Google and many other search engines normally do not index redirects. They may have had a stand alone website on the domain name at one point and may be the reason behind the indexed page. It appears around 2008 the domain name was used in at least a TV spot by this YouTube.com video:
Hanes main message on the page is "No Ride Up", so I see that as a better domain to fit the message they mainly push but everybody is well aware of a "Wedgie" and WedgieFree.com does make sense and grabs your attention and fitting with the video above. NoRideUp.com is registered but not by Hanes.
