Several days ago I have received an offer on sedo to buy a domain that matches my business name. After several hours of thinking I decided to buy the domain. I transferred the money to Sedo via paypal and…. 3 days later Sedo wrote me that the transaction has been canceled since it was a fake sale and they are dealing with the seller and Sedo suggested to me to take legal action against the seller. The seller wrote to me it was Sedo’s glitch indeed and showed me their correspondence, where Sedo actually excuses themselves to the seller for this mistake! It’s been 5 days now and Sedo stopped responding to my messages and did not refund my money even if they wrote they will. I am submitting a payment reversal (claim) with paypal to get my money back from Sedo (sedo.com, Sedo.co.uk, Sedo.de), which appears to be a dishonest and untrustworthy business.

@Daniel,
You will have to log in to your Sedo.com account and visit the My Sedo / Transfer Center. Then click on the specific domain and type in a message. They should reply pretty quickly, but I know Erich is pretty slow for what ever reason. Best of luck.

So as a seller, I have every right to back out on the deal. You Erich are the one who is causing me to pull every domain name that I have listed with Sedo, never list a single domain again and I will be expressing to others, IMO to NOT list domain names on Sedo.com. Yes, one bad apple can ruin it for a lot of people. - You are 100% right there - sedo is not the ONLY Company that provides this kind of service - it is sad that you had to find this out this way (I know of many myself).

Good Luck

I think the lack of CS is a trend on the web in any general. Out of sight is truly out of mind.

We all wave it off as nothing until it happens to us.

I recently had to deal with EuroDNS customer reps and it wasn't a walk in the park, I can tell you that.

The only people I had a nice convo with were the Moniker customer support, at least they appeared friendly.

In general though, these companies look at their bottom line and they don't give a rats ass if they upset us in the process.

I bet though if Rick Schwartz wanted to park his domains with Sedo they would be a hell of a lot nicer :).

John

Thank you John.

I agree. In my case, it does effect Sedo's bottom line in a little way, since they will be missing out on the commission. I was happy to pull all my domains I had listed with Sedo and removed the couple I had parked with them as well. It was the best hour I spent today changing dns and adding the domains to other services. ;)

Sedo's lack of CS is a total joke. Competition is heating up fast in this space as new parking companies are poping up and new domainers are looking for better ways to make money (ie turn-key affiliate/product 'parking' pages). Sedo is completely contempt with the money they make now and see no reason to change. I will never go back to Sedo. Advice to all: Try Parked.com or anything else.

Thank you dcmike77. I think it's also fair to point out, there are plenty of other services to list and sell your domain names also. ;) Afternic.com, SnapNames.com, eBay.com, High End blogs, Forums etc.

My first transaction at Sedo took two full months. I'm in the middle of a painfully slow purchase right now. I've also been plagued by non-buyers on the site, and I've made offers on countless domains that have long since been sold or developed. Sedo is a frustrating marketplace to deal with, but I still use it. At times, it's not that bad.

Auctions should be paid for within 24hrs of closing. Something similar happened to me at moniker and they did nothing about it. IMO many of the auction houses run very unprofessional pump and dump operations. There needs to be greater buyer/seller verification before they can even get to the bid process. And as stated above should pay much quicker than 10days.

Thanks

Gee are you sure it wasn’t the tooth pain getting the better of you. I understand your frustration but maybe on reflection you will see he thought he was acting in the best interest of Sedo and also save him self making the bad news call to the buyer. Short sighted but to strike out sedo being the main player in auctions, may be an over reaction - especially as you have made your point.

**Jamie Says**

Thank you for your reply Graham. I stick by what I wrote and will never deal with Sedo again and the reason behind it is how Erich treated me at the end of the phone call. I could of added this is the 3rd or 4th No Pay (the others just never paid all together, not just 39 days into the transaction), but I didn't even want to bring that up. I also didn't want to bring up the fact that domains are listed on Sedo by people who do not even own the domain, and several have made it to auction, then later pulled because people report them.... Also, if he was acting on the Best Interest of Sedo, he should of remembered that I am a customer as well.
