Not long ago I posted some minor things that I would like to see added to Sedo.com and Sam N. from Sedo just informed me that you can list a domain name with price showing on the landing page and still allow an interested party to submit an offer. It was news to him as well, but I am glad he found out and informed me of it.
I was only aware of the "Fixed Price" option to show a price, but I wasn’t a huge fan of it because then an interested party could not place an "offer" on the listed domain if they were not happy with the price.
By having a price shown and still allowing an interested party to place an offer, greatly increases your chance of Getting An Offer and or Selling your domain name. Less "assuming" going on with a price listed IMO!
Here is how to do it.
Log in at Sedo.com and select My Sedo/Domain Management.
If your Domain Management page is not set up to show the Selling: Price Option column, you will need to add that. You will also need the column Selling: Price and Selling: Minimum Offer column.
To change these options, simply choose the My Overview in the drop down box on the Domain Management.
After selecting My Overview, be sure to click Edit overview via the link below the drop down box.
At this point you can move columns to the right, to show the columns you will need. I am not a huge fan of this page, because it only allows a couple columns or the max width comes into play. With that said, after you set your prices, you can always change columns again. Select the above mentioned columns need (Selling Price Option, Sellling Price and Selling Minimum Offer) and use the Left and Right buttons to move the selected option over. Once all selected, Then click OK.
Now that you are back at the Domain Management page, you will want to set a Minimum Price that a person can make an offer on your domain name. Secondly, you want to set a Price, which should be closer to a "buy it now" that you would accept for your domain name. Lastly, select Make Offer in the Price Option column.
By having a Minimum Price, A Price and the Make Offer selected will show your "Price" on the domains listing page, but still allow an interested party to Make an offer. The interested parties offer will have to be higher then your Minimum Offer price you have set, but the buyer can also offer More then your listed Price or less then your asking price as long as the minimum offer is set accordingly. The domain page would look like this.
You also have the option to select Fixed Price, which makes the Price you set a Buy It Now. Using the Fixed Price option, will not allow an interested party to "Make An Offer" if they do not agree with the fixed price.
I see having a price on your For Sale domain name as vital. It will greatly increase your chances of selling. Providing more options to the buyer by allowing to show your expected price and have the seller be able to make an offer will again increase your offers and sales.

Very informative post.
However, I think the problem with the current set-up is that you can put a price on the name that you won’t accept. I know I have put a bid on names that showed with a $60 price tag and received no response.
In my opinion, it’s people gaming the system. They put up a name that has some value, and falsely increase it’s value by putting a low price tag on it to attract bids. I believe (pretty sure about it) that the number of bids plays into Sedo’s ranking system. I know that the number of previous bids a name has shows up in the stats for the name.
I think a much better option would be to create a “Send to Auction” item along with “Make Offer” and “Fixed Price” – If the seller chose this option, and received a bid on the name it would automatically go to auction.
Just my 2 cents.
